Auction
of Promises
Saturday 10th May 7:30 Rectory Hall, Stock
Firstly, a very big ‘thank you’ to all those who have already made their Promises for the auction and to Adrian Rilestone for agreeing to be our auctioneer for the evening.
We have provided details of the Promises made so far and I hope this will wet your appetite for the auction on the 10th May 2003.
We still need a good many more Promises in order to make the evening the success we hope it will be and would therefore ask those who have not already come forward to do so as soon as possible.
I know some people are stumped for ideas as to what they can offer by way of a Promise so we have provided a list of ideas taken from a similar event held in another village, which hopefully will provide some inspiration!
Remember, it need not be something that would cost you any money, perhaps it’s an unwanted gift which is still boxed and taking up room in your cupboard or a painting or ornament you are willing to donate.
We are happy to collect items if necessary and look forward to hearing from you.
Tickets will be on sale for the auction from next week. Tickets will cost £1 per person and will include a catalogue, a glass of wine or juice, nibbles and FREE entry to a prize draw—so it’s worth coming just for that!
Lastly, please encourage your friends in and out of the village who may not be members of the congregation to support this worthy cause by offering a Promise of some kind and/or attending the auction on the 10th May.
We look forward to hearing from you — get your thinking caps on!
