PRIDE IN A CLEANER CHELMSFORD COMMITTEE AWARDS PROGRAMME
The Pride in a Cleaner Chelmsford Committee wishes to recognize and reward those people and organizations in our Borough involved in voluntary activities to improve the environment. An Awards Programme has therefore been established and applications and nominations are invited for the following awards:
Youth Environmental Award
For secondary school/special schools/youth organizations/individual young people (aged 11 to 18 years). Awarded to an individual or a group who has shown exceptional commitment to environmental work.
Community Award
Awarded to an individual resident working in a voluntary capacity in their own community to improve the environment.
Recycling Award
Awarded to an individual resident who has shown an exceptional commitment to recycle over and above that which would normally be expected.
Neighbourhood Award
Awarded to a group of residents (2 or more) involved in a project in their neighbourhood to improve the environment.
Prizes include a shield, gift vouchers, plaques and certificates. A Presentation Evening is organized in the autumn when the Mayor of Chelmsford awards the prizes.
In addition to the above, Best Kept Garden and Best Kept Street competitions are organized for the urban area of Chelmsford. In January of each year a competition is launched for primary school children.
