||About the author
I was born and educated in Romford, have been married to Alan for 32 years
and have three daughters (Cheryl, Jennifer and Philippa - all in their twenties). We moved from Romford to Billericay in the early 1970s, and then to
Stock in 1989. We live in Myln Meadow. I work at St Andrew's Centre, Broomfield Hospital, where I'm a medical secretary to one of the consultant
surgeons; we moved there from the old St Andrew's Hospital, Billericay, when it was closed in 1998. I've been writing as a hobby virtually all my
life, and although 'The Trouble With Ally' is my first novel, I have had short stories published in women's magazines like Woman, Woman's Weekly and
Woman's Realm since the early 1990s. I was given the confidence to pursue a writing career after winning a couple of short story competitions in
'Writers' News' magazine.
