The run, over a 3 kilometre course, is for all
abilities, i.e. Runners, joggers, walkers and wheelchairs and pushers. All
contestants will receive a 'goody bag', a tee-shirt and on completion of the
course, a commemorative |
| Entrance Fee is £5:00p and sponsorship forms
will be made available shortly. The 'Fun Run' is complimented by many marquees,
side-shows and activities in the 'arena', including bouncy castles, hair
braiding, face painting, model railway displays, local dance troupes and
musical groups and bands. There will be a Tai-Chi demonstration and Essex
companies selling their wares. |
| The event is supported by Maldon District Council,
who have allowed us to use Promenade Park and we are negotiating to have
certain celebrities to support us on the day. |
| The British Lung Foundation
have promised, that if this event is a success, it will become an annual event
and become a major "Essex Family Fun Day". |
| The British Lung Foundation,
launched in 1985, works to support the 1 in 7 people affected by lung disease.
Support is the focus for many of it's activities, including a nationwide
network of Breathe Easy Support Groups. There are currently 8 support groups in
Essex and more planned for the future. |
| The forthcoming event in
September is a joint initiative by all Essex groups and the purpose is to raise
much needed funds for research into lung disease. |
