| George William Buckle was a Petty Officer Stoker on HMS Partridge (K/10543), he was killed 12th Dec 1917 aged 25 and is remembered on the Chatham Naval Memorial. | |||||||
| HMS PARTRIDGE, 12th December 1917, was in the northern North Sea off Norwegian coast and was serving with Grand Fleet flotillas, but escorting a Scandinavian convoy with sister ship "Pellew" when attacked by German destroyers "G.101", "G.103", "G.104" and "V.100 ". "Partridge" was sunk in the action but the damaged "Pellew" escaped. | |||||||
